One of the main differences between the iPad and it’s rivals is the variety and the insane number of applications for all occasions. Apple is not joking when patented the phrase: “We have an application for this.” But a recent study showed that nearly a third of iPad owners has never been downloaded any sort of additional applications. The Nielsen Company conducted a survey of 5,000 iPad owners and found that if 63% of them download paid applications and 5% download only free applications and 32% do not download any program at all.

Among the most popular paid applications are games, then books (check out our iPad bookstore), music, shopping and information applications. As for the free applications, then you probably faced with the fact that they are either limited in functionality or contain advertising blocks. The study showed that the majority of iPad owners (57%) did not oppose the imposition of advertising in such applications, if they get a full version of the program.
